Tell us a bit about what’s happening in your home? Dunstan is taking paternity leave and is using the time to not only be here for me and the kids, but help start the build on the new home. We are building a passive house on the property. These house designs are based on minimising heat loss from the building and maximising heat gain into the building, which eliminates the need for a heating system. It’s nice to have Dunstan home, as well as seeing our new home be built.
On my bedside table now is...
A water bottle. Ida is now a month old, and a water bottle is every breast-feeding women’s saviour. I highly recommend one with a straw feature, as it makes life easier in the dark.
Having some earpods handy as we cooperate with Ida’s sleeping schedule has made late nights a little easier. I can pop on an audiobook and listen without disrupting the rest of the house. Harry Potter is currently on rotation again!
My father gave the kids these stones from the garden while he helped us build on the property. He told them that these rocks are perfect skimming stones, so they have been given to me for safe keeping until we can get to some water to use them. We might need some rain before that happens.
While the purpose of the breast pump might be obvious, the crochet is another wee project I can work on while I am nap-trapped. Keeping my hands busy is therapeutic, and I have found it to be much more rewarding than late night scrolling. I have a few of these flowers I am working on for a bigger project.
This photo makes me smile every time I see it. I recommend printing off your photos and grabbing some frames from the op-shop. We will have to get some new photos now we have Ida in the family, but there is plenty of space on the wall for more.
