These are my two youngest children, who have always had a close and playful relationship. Anton was seven in this picture, and Arwen five. It looks to me like they are laughing about something Anton has in his hand. He is always fascinated by small bugs and often picks them up to investigate. Arwen in particular loves to wear the most outrageous and gorgeous outfits...and she changes outfits many times a day, which makes for a busy washing machine because they all end up filthy! If we take pictures of our kids only when they are dressed in clean clothes and smiling while looking at the camera, then this is what they will come to believe we value in them. If we take them when they are free and wild and themselves, then this is what they will believe we value in them and in turn what they will value in others. I hope this is a picture my kids will come back to in time – to remember who they are, where they are from, the people important to them and what they love doing.
