It’s been a tough few weeks for folks in Southland and Clutha. The recent weather event has put a lot of pressure on families, farms and workplaces, and we know many local women could really do with a break – a chance to reconnect, recharge, and look after themselves.
In March 2026, The Shepherdess Muster is heading to The Catlins, Murihiku Southland, for the first time. It’s a weekend for women to get off-farm, spend time with others, and head home with a bit more energy in the tank.
We know that when times are tough, women often put themselves last. Yet when women have the opportunity to focus on their own wellbeing, the ripple effects extend to their families, workplaces and communities.
Our local Muster Committee are establishing the Southland & Clutha Scholarship Fund – to ensure that women who most need this weekend can be there. Our goal is to raise $15,000 by mid December, to support 15 Southland and Clutha women to attend The Muster.
