A weekend-long festival that’s just for you.
A place to connect, celebrate and create. To escape the demands of family and home life. To embrace out-of-the-box experiences in a rural setting and head home more resilient and enthused, with a stash of tools in the toolbox.
The Shepherdess Muster has a relaxing retreat feel and a festival vibe. The programme works like a menu of activities—attendees will pick and choose from a selection of workshops, guest speakers, beauty therapists and health services to attend each day. All festival goers will come together multiple times during the days and evenings for meals, drinks, performances and live music.
The Shepherdess Muster is returning 6-8 March 2026, heading to Tokanui, Murihiku Southland.
This not-for-profit event is led by Shepherdess, a social enterprise with the mission of making rural folk feel connected through community building, storytelling, and events.

WHY WE HAVE DIFFERENT TICKET CATEGORIES
The Muster is about bringing women together, but we know everyone’s situation is a little different. We want to make the event as accessible as possible, so we’ve created a few options to make sure locals, seniors, community organisations, workplaces, and even those wanting to gift a ticket can all find the right fit. No matter which ticket you choose, you’ll get the full Muster experience – meals, workshops, speakers, entertainment and space to connect.
